As all we know, taking exercise is good to our health. There are more and more people taking exercise, even on the hottest and coldest days of a year. In winter, temperature is low and air around us is polluted more. So choosing a good time to take exercise is very important. We need to avoid the low temperature of our bodies and environments, as well as the polluted air to achieve fitness goal well.

On winter fine days, it is colder in the morning, warmer in the afternoon. And temperature of human bodies is consistent with the environment, lower in the morning. And so 14:00 -19:00 is an ideal time for exercise. At that time, temperature of both human bodies and the environment is comparatively high. What’s more, people are in a stronger physical condition, much easier to get excited. While in the morning like in 9:00 .a.m., low temperature can cause partly frostbite. If people take a long time exercise in a cold environment, they can lose much body temperature, feeling dizzy and tipsy. At that time, pay attention not to lie down to take a rest, otherwise, the body temperature continues to fall and coma and even death could occur. The right way is to eat high calorie food, wear proper clothes and control exercise time. In this way, people can keep their body temperatures and normal organism functions.

According to experts, in winter after midnight, there is inversion layer which results that before 6: 00 .a.m., pollutants in the air can not spread easily. When the sun rises, pollutants are easier to spread to the upper air as temperature rises. Even without the inversion layer, there is a large amount of carbon dioxide in the air because of green plants’photosynthesis. Besides, there are carbon monoxide, nitric oxide, hydrogen carbonide, lead and other pollutants in the air, and so it is unhealthy for people to take exercise as they can inhale a lot of dust and toxic gases. If they take exercise in such condition for a long time, they will feel tired, dizzy, throat sore. Thus, people should do sports after 10.a.m. when most pollutants spread to the upper air.

What’s more, old people are the biggest group of morning exercise in winter but they have a weaker ability of anti-coldness, anti-viruses, and anti-polluted. Thus, we suggest take exercise later, better in the afternoon. Of course, it is also important to prepare for exercise. For example, drink a cup of water or milk, eat some bread or biscuits and then get about indoors till the sun rises. At that time, go out to take exercise.
